American TV - High-level ignition source

Time (min/sec)
- 0:10
A few seconds before the TV is actually exposed to fire, our tester pours 200 ml (about 6.8 fluid ounces) of isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) into the TV set itself. This situation represents the most extreme case scenario performed in these fire tests.

Time (min/sec)
0:04
The fire continues to consume the isopropanol (rubbing alcohol).

Time (min/sec)
3:00
After 3 minutes, the fire has actually consumed all the liquid alcohol that was poured inside the TV, but the fire then went out. Here, the picture tube did not implode, as it did in a test where a European TV was tested with the lowest-level ignition source used in these fire tests.
