FACTS ON FIRE

Did you know that:

  • Every year, in spite of society's best efforts, fire is likely to kill over 5,000 people in Europe alone. Nearly 4,000 will probably die in the United States, and many thousands more elsewhere. Find out more on http://www.genevaassociation.org/WFSC.htm

  • In most public places in the world you are well protected against the risks of fire in places such as cinemas and public transport (ie. Trains) because they have to be built with fire safe materials, containing flame retardants

  • Since 1988, British and Irish consumers have benefitted from the highest levels of fire safety protection in the world, thanks to the British and Irish Furniture Fire Safety Regulations

  • Watching TV in the US is safer than watching TV in Europe. Why? Because TV’s in the US have higher fire safety levels than TV’s in Europe!
