The Bromine Science and Environmental Forum (BSEF) was formed around a core value believing in the importance of science based research. This is apparent from the significant investments that BSEF provides into scientific studies by reputable experts and, where possible, they are peer reviewed in publications.
The bromine industry is also required to develop science assessing the environmental and health impact of their substances put on the market. These studies are then reviewed by the authorities which maintains the high standards that BSEF set into their continuing development of environmentally friendly flame retardants.
Most of the research carried out is on the three main commercial brominated flame retardants, Deca-BDE, TBBPA and HBCD.
